Under Voltage Protection

Whenever there is an fault on a grid close to the plant, the plant generators tend to feed the fault and the voltages at the supply point drops. For this purpose under voltage relay is used for isolating the generators from a grid.
under voltage relays are also used to isolate motors from service in case there is a low voltage situation because motors start to draw excessive current.
