Cutting Fluids..

12/04/2010 12:16 AM

Generally, cutting fluids are divided into 4 major types; Soluble Oils, Straight Oils, Synthetic Oils, Semi-Synthetic Oils. Can you guys tell me the effects in term of friction and thermal of these cutting fluids? Please share your knowledges or ideas. TQ.. **Machine: CNC Milling Machine **Workpiece: Stainless Steel plate, Aluminum plate, Cast Iron plate

Sort of homework question. But this is related to my final year project about the cutting fluids used in milling machine. I've google it but still can't find the answer. Is there anyone can help me?

No one here is going to give you the answer.

I just went to Google and found the answers to your question in less than 30 seconds. All four classes.

Try it.

In my past factory we used to use soluble oil for lathes, drilling and milling machines. For gear hobbing and gear shaping machines we used to use straight oils. For CNC machines we used to use straight oils. Please check up with oil companies for more reliable information.
