Please - not another right hand / left hand rule to compehend, understand and attempt to explain for application, as so eloquently discussed (or disgusted) on the Electrical Engineering Section as proposed by malar of the topic of; thumb-rule.
This is the weekend, and I want to relax a bit and not get my blood to boil over dumb questions.
What are you talking about ? Who did you get this information from? It is obvious to me that drums, boilers, and pressure setting are not relevant any particular direction. I'm curious if anyone else has heard the term, right handed or left handed used in this manner. Important points ..... The settings are determined by the boiler and system capability. Never attempt to change the pressure or blow back settings, unless you have been trained and certified to do so. Testing is done on the the Safety valves in a controlled process/ manner called an Accumulation Test.
Safety valves should be stamped with their pressure settings; read the labels to tell which is which. "Left" and "right" are ambiguous; they depend on which direction one approaches the valves.
