DC Generator

12/04/2010 11:07 AM

an induced emf which is due to physical movement of the coil or conductor with respect to flux or movement of flux with respect to coil or conductor is called dynamically induced emf -all the generators works on the principle of dynamically induced emf

Yeah, what is your point. This is generated via Faraday's law of induction.

the plane of rotation and the plane of flux should not be parallel to each other for the generation of the induced emf

in both ac and dc generation the the basic nature of induced emf is sinusoidal in this we are taking visine(theta) why not cos??

Wrong, DC voltage and DC current is not sinusoidal, if it were why would we call it direct instead of alternating?

i m not saying both ac and dc are sinusoidal but the emf generated in both ac and dc generators are sinusoidal we are using split ring commutators in dc generator to convert it to dc....

I think you are typing your homework question line by line...

What we have here is a classic case of procrastination.

Homework must be due on Monday based on the volume of questions from OP.

Induced EMF can take the form of mutual as well as self inductance (Think reactance). Flux Lines are invisible, act at a distance and are concentrated at the poles. Each flux line leaves one pole and reenters the opposite pole, these lines never cross and are curved (unlike electrostatic lines of force, which are straight). The number of lines of flux that CUT the inductor (coil) determine the amount of induced EMF. Dynamical in the the sense you have to have a relative motion. Direct current develops a magnetic field around the conductor, but it is not expanding and contracting (relative motion).
