Tripping Coil

12/06/2010 5:09 AM

Hi gud people

what is the minimum voltage that can trip the 380V tripping coil on the circuit breaker? i have 380V 4 wire system, the main circuit breaker is 350A equipt with 1000mA earth leakage relay with a core balance.

the voltage stated on the tripping coil is 380V, the voltage from the core balance(unbalance) is 72V, and this trip the main breaker. I know there is earth fault on my circuit. but why 380V coil trip on 72V.

REGARD,

DAN

dear friend,

please check the control circuit. the tripping coil must be supplied with a operating control voltage of 380V +/- 10% through the earthfault relay's tripping contact. the cbct must have connected to the earthfault relay instead of tripping coil.

thanks.
