Power Factor of Alternator When Connected with Infinite Busbar

12/07/2010 10:40 AM

Dear Friends,

if we can control the power factor of Alternator when running in parallel with infinite busbar. So why dont we keep it unity? why we keep it lagging?

Because infinite busbars are a hypothetical concept that doesn't exist in the real world, perhaps?

Lagging implies inductance.

Dear PWSlac,

i mean to say that if we synchronize the generator with several power plant running in parallel.

You can adjust it to unity, it doesn't have to lag
