I can't find a job , even I did not attend a single interview on it. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, to me you seem to be quite a bit lost. "Career as PLC Programmer !!!"

A B.E(EEE) looking for a job as programmer?

course in PLC(delta, Allen Bradley) and SCADA would have provided you some insight about the hardware, system disposition as well as programming requirements but certainly not put you in the capacity of a programmer.

If I happen to be an employer, I will choose an engineer capable to define the system requirement and the architecture, programming can be done by someone who knows an appropriate high level computer language and can follow the engineer in fulfilling the laid requirements.

Please do realize that SCADA can be achieved by using LED's / light bulbs in a mimic diagram similarly automation can be done by electromechanical relay logic without the involvement of computer or its programmer however a sensible engineer who could understand the system requirements would be needed!.

I am not aware of any "trainee" programing positions. If my company was going to hire a programmer I would look for the most experienced guy available.

Additionally…you program PLC's to control a process. Having experience with processes is just as important with having experience with PLC's. The founder of our company is self-taught on programming but was a process guru.

You need to gain experience to complement your education. Forget the fact that you are an EE and grab any technician or process position and master it. Ignore how menial or low paying it may be, consider it as attending a paid college. Choose the job on what you can learn instead of what you can earn.

Once you master anything the jobs and money will follow.

Every year thousands of engineers are passing out from universities and private engineering colleges in India . When supply is more than demand quality is the main consideration to withstand in the market. You have added additional qualification. Do not sit idle in house. Keep on trying. Apply to various companies who are in your specialized area. Companies like ABB,L& T.Simens, BHEL etc recruit trainee engineers regularly. Visit their web sites. There is Apprentice scheme for graduate engineers . You can check it. All the best.

You sound like the specialist MD who knows everything about nothing as opposed to the generalist who knows nothing about everything. Employers are searching for people who can solve real problems. Your PLC training is a specialized tool that will only be useful if your employer knows he needs a PLC programmer. Most employers only know they have a control problem. You need to gain experience in solving actual control problems using a variety of tools. The broader range of problems you are equipped to solve, the more useful you will be to an employer.

Why the hell you are limiting yourself to be a programmer?

You claim to be an EEE (Electronics & Electrical Engineer - right?)

You need to first acknowledge the vastness of the concerned subjects and then think of specialization. Programming of PLCs is done even by an ITI electrician. You have spent 4 years in Engineering - give the subjects some credit. Don't limit your vision, expose yourself to applications and yours will be a happy soul.
