Does after engineering mean after degree in engineering, or mean after you work and actually become an engineer?
If the goal is to be an office person wearing fine clothes and enjoying air conditioning, its a great plan.
But law degree is unlikely to advance you in engineering.
But what do you see the law degree as an asset?
If you want the law degree so you can sue engineers, why should we help you with this?

Patent law would be the most likely (and I would think obvious) use of that combination. You could also work in the contracts department of some of the larger electronic and aerospace companies, or work in government (boo, hisss) in technology regulation and so forth.

Generally the two are not compatible and both are a major undertaking by themselves let alone trying to do them both. This is a substantial career change to be thinking about. Are you sure you are not just having a mid-life crisis?
Have you even given engineering a chance before jumping into a new career?
