Ask About Turbine Flow Meter (is it called axial turbine also?)

I think some turbine flow meters are built like a miniature water wheel and situated toward one side of the pipe they are measuring. This would be a tangential flow type.

If the flow meter is built like a small propeller inside the pipe, this would be axial flow. The Cameron picture looked like this.

The EZ-IN type is meant to be mounted between flanges on the ends of the inlet and outlet pipes, with a gap between to match the thickness of the meter. So yes, you would need a pair of flanges to go on the piping, with bolts long enough to bridge across the meter and through the two flanges.
