Cockroach Exterminator

Does any one know how to permanently kill or exterminate cockroaches from homes. the insecticides we have in my country Lagos Nigeria is no more effective . will appreciate if can be given the chemical and the formulation.

Improve the cleanliness of the building. Cockroaches will not live and breed where there are no sources of nutrition lying about for them...

One thing I've seen about using boric acid is to apply the powder in a very thin layer--they recommend sort of puffing it out of a squeeze bottle or similar. The concern is that cockroaches will avoid thicker layers like we would avoid snow.

This might have been in a Wikipedia article.
