Hello, we have a BAUER geared motor model D4410AV / 206K.
The gear has an output shaft diameter 65 mm, it is over 40 years old, but has always worked fine.
Now the electrical motor has burned because grease from the gearbox has entered the motor house and windings.
We are going to replace the sealing "Zimmerring" between the motorhouse and the gear house. The motor will also be rewinded.
We also want to replace the bearings inside the gear.
New gearing wheels are no longer available.
When we opened the gear house and took out the gearing wheels, we saw that the gear has always turned in one direction, one side of the teeth on the gearing wheels is still like new, on the other side of the teeth you see some wear.
Some gearing wheels have symmetrical dimensions, this means that we could rotated the gearing wheel over 180° and put it back in position.
In this situation, the unused side of the teeth will be used, but these teeth will turn against the used teeth of the mating gearing wheel.
Unfortunately the mating wheel can't be rotated.
What will be the better solution. remounting the gearing wheels with the weared teeth against each other or rotating the single wheels if this is possible.
Who has some experience with this kind of problems ?
most regards
