Earthing System Without Earth Grid

12/19/2010 5:56 AM

I want to design earthing system for a laboratory building. But there is no any possibility to make a grid below the building. Now i want to put earth electrode (pipe electrode) around the building. So how i can calculate step potential and number of earth electrode sufficient to withstand fault current?

British Standard 7671.

Depending on the incoming supply earthing, it might not be necessary to do any digging at all.

You say "grid below the building" and "fault current"

Do you mean earth for power supply reasons or EMR shielding reasons?
