It is? What are you looking at?

"Breaker"

"Breaker"

"Breaker"

"Breaker"

I want to know why the breaking time of a contactor/breaker is less than the making time of the same?

Breaking the circuit is difficult than making close. Because energy is flowing through the circuit and due to curent flow some energy is stored as magnetic field. At the time of breaking this energy will converted into capacitance and there will appear high voltage across the poles. Again there will be a tendency to continue the current flow via arcing. So breaker should act fatly to avoid this continuation of the arcing and there should be enough methods to vanish this arc.

But in case of closing such a problem will not comes.

So breaking should be faster.

You realise you have completely contradicted yourself.

It's simple mechanics.

For a contact to 'fall away' from contact is 'zero distance' (given an ac half cycle '0' V handy, conduction ceases)

For a contact to 'contact', it has to travel a longer distance.

Spring rates and magnetic collapse do have an effect, but generally distance is the larger factor.
