What would be the solution regarding a DC motor getting pointed spark on the commutator and getting tripped due to a short circuit?

Is the commutator showing any other signs of damage? You've not given us much to go on.

It sounds as though at least one of the windings has a short circuit fault on it.

  • A 12VDC motor rated at 5W might warrant replacement with a new one from the local model shop.
  • A 3300VDC motor rated at 5MW might warrant a site visit from the manufacture's technicians with some of their test gear before taking their advice.

Size is important - especially if one wants the wallpaper to stay up!

What is the position of rocker arm, brushes , the pigtails, the connections? Are these damaged or dislodged?
