New Report on the Hazards of Cell Phone Usage

The report seems to be based on problems in india where the control and regulation of radio power levels are not as strict as they should be

Mumbai: Cellphone operators have long denied their transmitting towers atop buildings or on highways have any adverse bearing on the health of humans or animals, despite several studies across the world concluding the contrary. Now a report for the Department of Telecommunication by a faculty of the Indian Institute of Technology, Powai, reinforces what scientists have long held—that areas around cellphone towers are highradiation and consequently highrisk zones. Moreover, it recommends that ndia, which has very "relaxed radiation norms'', must raise the safety bar.

Girish Kumar, professor, electrical engineering department of the Powai institute, who visited rooftops of several buildings and measured radiation on places with cell towers mounted, said: "These towers transmit radiation 24x7, so people living nearby will receive 10,000 to 10,000,000 times stronger signal than required for mobile communication. In India, crores of people reside in these hig radiation zones.''

Kumar noted the cell phone industry was becoming "another cigarette industry, which for long kept claiming smoking is not harmful. In fact, cellphone/tower radiation is worse than smoking as one cannot see it or smell it, and its effect on health is noted after a long period of exposure.

By the way the device cannot work as described, placing an energy absorbing panel anywhere in the room cannot drop the overall radiation levels, yes radiation will drop if you measure the radiation after the device ie with it in placed between the mast and the measuring device,

But if you move measuring device so absorbing panel is not in line of transmission tower then radiation would be the same level as not having panel there

His "solution" appears entirely bogus, calling into question (his integrity, of course, but also) the significance of the reported studies.

A tinfoil hat (and/or jock strap) would probably work as well.

I'll admit, I'm skeptical if the radiation from cell phones really does cause cancer, but there are devices you can get that block the emissions. The one I have is called Cel-Fi and I actually received it from T-Mobile to better my cell phone's reception in my home (I'm not located near a tower and dropped calls consumed my life). Not only do I get better reception, but radiative emissions have been cut down.

I've been reading into this product more and am finding out that it's not available yet, just to T-Mobile customers through CS. If you are worried about emissions (or need better reception) I recommend you look into this product.
