Noise Level

Please advise if you want to reduce noise level of a canopied generator except using silencer? is it going to make any difference if you use extra glasswool or rockwool?

Which noise are you trying to limit?

A: Exhaust noise? If yes, install a "quieter silencer" per manufacturers recommendations.

B: Mechanical engine noise? If yes, install extra glasswool/rockwool per manufacturers recommendations.

How about vibration isolation pads? Are these in place, and in good shape?

Sir how rockwool will be installed for noice limitation ,extending silencer is understandable. Anti vibration isolator is used to stop abnormal stress on foundation pad ,how does it will minimize the sound ? please elaborate.

Seriously? Vibration isolation is not just to prevent over-stressing the pad. That's just the mechanical part of it. Here's a practical way to test it...run the generator and take a long metal rod, press it to any vibrating part of the engine (!), then stick the other end in your ear. Hear that? That is what the vibration isolation pads are preventing from happening.

two piece of cotton is ideal, put it inthe ear. Rockwool and glasswool is not good for that.

What did you have in mind? Where are you using the glasswool or rockwool now if not on an intake for air cooling?

What kind of canopy is over it? Do you wish to reduce noise by covering it? How much air does it need to prevent overheating?
