Close to nearly every hot water tap on nearly every sink/basin in the UK workplace, there is a sign that says something like
.
Now from a really young age, people discover that when one turns on a hot water tap, one shouldn't really be surprised when hot water comes out of it!
This particular sign does assume that the person operating the tap has noticed it (how many motorists notice and take correct action on a sign, for instance?) has a sufficient command of English, is intelligent enough to read and understand it, and can consider the implications of any action before it takes place. Then, so does a simple red insert on the top of the hot tap handle - and that only assumes that the operative is not colour-blind...
So, is this hot water sign really there just to protect the employer against incurring liability for the stupidity of action of the persons it employs, or what?
It seems that starting a sign-making company is a licence to print money!

Any more silly signs?
