Huh... Don't ya think a "professional translator" is what ya might want to be going to on this one?

Sheesh... I can see it now... after a core melt down, "Ohh they meant the other possible word for "emergency coolant".

you would need more than a translation (diffinition) of words, you would need to know how to structure the words(ing) to make sense to a technician. i.e. an actual translator that knows the syntax of the two languages.

...and not only that, but also the technical terms, jargon, and even folkways of plant operator lingo.

I've forgotten the title of a book I have on good design psychology, but in it there is a picture of a nuke plant control console. Two of the key levers on it are surmounted by beer tap handles! A joke, you think? Maybe so, but think again. The beer taps are visually and tactilely different, hence unlikely to be confused. This is actually good design.

Now try to translate this into Chinese: "Steam pressure too low, give more Budweiser; Core temperature too hot, more Heineken."

Here's what I get... "蒸汽压力太低,给更多;百威 ;核心温度&;是热更多&;力。

To quote Tornado "and even folkways of plant operator lingo"

English? If it is I don't recognise it!

As an experiment try using Babel Fish to translate English to German and then back again. It's hilarious

Best to use a proper translation service, especially as technical language is particularly hard to accurately translate.

Don't forget to have someone who understands what the translated text SHOULD say check the document thoroughly least you have a translation mistake that could causes a dangerous problem.
