Tie Transformer

01/09/2011 8:05 PM

I would like to know the factors that we have to use tie transformer and minimize the sc level.

I think if we want to minimize the short circuit level, we have to use toe transfomer (one of the options).

regards,

rongg

Depending on the transformer use and configuration one of the ways to limit short circuit current is by using a neutral earthing resistor (also called a neutral grounding resistor). Fuses and similar protective elements also work well to limit the short circuit duration (and hence the let through I squared T power).

Try a search of CR4 for these terms as they have been discussed many times, alternatively try an internet search.
