Turbo Entabulator

01/10/2011 5:33 PM

For anyone who is an engineer or who knows an engineer.

Rockwell International decide to get into the transmission industry. This is a warm up with the film crew while creating the training video. He should have won an academy award for an off the cuff performance. He has no script and its all meaningless but amazing.

Back in the 1960s, comedian Al Kelly was a master of double-talk like that.

From Paul Gross, on another forum:

"This was done, for a serious purpose, almost 40 years ago, resulting in an important paper on education: "The Dr. Fox Lecture: A Paradigm of Educational Seduction" (Authors: D. H. Naftulin, et al., in Journal of Medical Education, July 1973).

These investigators scheduled a lecture to be delivered by a Dr. M. J. Fox at a major meeting of the American Medical Education society. The paper delivered by "Dr. Fox" -- an actor who knew nothng about science, mathematics, or medicine -- was entitled "Mathematical Game Theory as Applied to Physician Education." It was impressive nonsense from beginning to end.

The audience, heavily populated by medical school administrators, advanced medical students, psychologists, and Education specialists, was asked to fill in an evaluation form after the lecture and discussion. The verdict was about a B+ -- "good job, well organized, a pleasant manner in dealing with questions," etc."

The Actor's face is the most impressive thing to watch. It makes me glad to be alive.

I miss Professor Erwin Cory!

I first met the turbo-encabulator in1954 at RAAF Ballarat.

It was a little different from the U-tube version, but in the same direction.

Can anyone recall an earlier time? Maybe out of WWII?
