Thanks. I had a 50-50 chance of getting it right. I've never been one to over verbalize.

Normally I only need an English to English translator when Del is posting. I guess this posting is an exception. "Loquaciousness" seems like something doctors are working on a cure for. Or, is Dr. Drew treating Charlie Sheen for this?

For English to English translations, I would like to suggest the LynDoor™ Intergalactic Multi-Lingual-Translatorium® analyzer.

I usually run my comments through before posting... well, so we know it does not filter out the baloney very well.

I do not believe loquaciousness afflicts Dr. Drew or Charlie Sheen

Not very many acronyms available for TWIT. Can you tell us which is correct?

Yes, but the stuff I know about is in the Linux world. I can't remember the names exactly, but there are a variety of (Linux) (command line, typically) programs that convert text from one format to another. They are often named something like:

<format1>to<format2>, or

<format1>to<format2>

Where format1 and format2 include things like pdf, txt, rtf, ltx, and many others.

Also, in the Linux world, quite often documents are not actually in real Microsoft .doc format, but in .rtf format, which Microsoft Word reads (and writes) fine. Many times files are labeled with the .doc extension when they are really ,rtf which makes them almost 100% compatible with Word.

I guess I should say it's probably been 10 years since I made any such conversions, I would expect that Microsoft has continued to expand the .doc format, and I'm not sure .rtf has kept pace.

You could do a .pdf to .rtf conversion, then open the document in Word and explicitly save it as .doc if you really need "official" .doc format. I never bothered (but it happens almost automatically in Word, iirc).

A quick search on google yielded this link to free software....and here is another one.

I have not tried either of them...just the first two that appeared in my search.

The first one is a limited 30-day wonder (and costly to buy thereafter), whereas the 2nd one is totally free. I downloaded it and it works adequately! Thanks for the links.

GA for you too!
