3 Generator in Parallel

This question was asked and answered recently. A paralleling panel can accommodate any number of generators. Whatever set of generators is already on line is taken as the reference voltage/ phase sequence/ frequency. The incoming generator is compared to the existing bus either by synchroscope or synchronizing lights (in various possible configurations, which need to be understood ahead of time); when the incoming generator matches the bus, its connecting switch or breaker is closed.

The function of the synchronizer is to verify the synchronizing conditions and connect the generator to the system bus if the conditions are full filled. Once the generator is connected to the bus, the synchronizer remains idle.

Generally synchronizer is used in two fashioned:

(1) A single common synchronizing panel is used and it is wired to the system so that you can select it for synchronizing any of the generators to the system. In this case, selector switches are used to select the synchronizer for each of the generators.

(2) Individual synchronizing panel is used for each of the generators.

You first check how the synchronizer system is configured and then find how to synchronize the 3^rd generator to the system.
