Alternative Browser for CR4 Use

01/14/2011 11:18 AM

Hey guys,

I see within a lot of threads that people are having problems with chrome and other browsers when posting. I used to be one of them. I've been using this one for almost a year and it works great!

It's fast, it's free, all functions in post box work, and it imports your IE settings. I like it.

I haven't used Firefox, but this one is a real small program, so far it's worked for everything I do online, including CR4. It's small enough, that it could be thrown up on the desk top and only used for CR4, if someone had another browser that they like, that doesn't work here.

I hate IE. Chrome was good, but not here. Plus I ran a registry cleaner or something, and it cleaned out my favorites folder in Chrome, which I guess is pretty common.

Seen that one before, but it's windowscentric

I use global bookmarks through my google account, so I try all different sort of browsers this extension for Chrome helps tie into my account

opera compares well to firefox with a lot more options for customization

IE Runs ok on a virtual machine, not very user friendly

running what amounts to a computer inside of a computer highlights the which programs

use lots of ram & processor power

IE being the slowest, followed by FF, then opera, chrome

the slimbrowser is decent, faster than IE for sure, I'll have to try it some more

I'm working on a solution for a friend so he can access his work's website [IE only] on the road on a beater laptop I fixed up for him running linux, which is much easier to connect wirelessly

You guys feel free to post links to your favorite browsers.

My idea here was to provide one stop shopping for people that were having problems with their current browser within CR4.

I share the computer with my wife, she uses FF, I mostly use chrome

I just work around the deficiencies of CR4 & hope they pull their head out & modernize at some point. {p} at the end of the line for a hard break, {link url="insert link here"} + text you want to appear followed by {/link}, {img src="insert image link address"} use all that stuff except with [ ] instead of { }

the only thing I miss is the ability post pics directly from my files

the cr spellchunker blows & browsers have better ones these days anyway, the chrome version, works on right click unlike the FF one that takes like 4 clicks to make work.

I just gave slim browser & IE a test & see that it doesn't highlight my bad spelling here the spell check operation is enough keep me on chrome

Downloaded, and, am using it now.

Seems excellent.

I have been using enigma from Sutton design for years: seems very similar.

I just noticed that IE & SB[slim browser] have one of my favorite features

Duplicate tab

say you are writing a reply & want to refer to a post other than the one you are replying to, right click the tab & duplicate.

is there a way to do this on firefox?
