How to check philips make SN 58/01 ignitor & SON/T 400w lamp of a search light with a multimeter or series lamp practically?

I agree with Guest. I keep spare ignitors on hand. If the new one makes the difference, there you go. Trying to sort out this sort of gizmo is just too much trouble, they are cheap.

Just knowing that they can fail saves you hundreds in costs. I used to replace the whole package until I figured out it was just a five buck part.
