Cost Comparision

Kindly advise which Transformer will be cheaper and why?

400/6.9/6.9 KV ONAF 50/25/25 MVA or 20/6.9/6.9KV ONAF 50/25/25 MVA

NO!

It is never cheaper to get free advice from a public forum than a paid, licensed adviser. Hire a qualified local electrician/engineer to examine your facility and power requirements. They will know your local wiring codes, the environment the transformer will reside in, and how much reserve power likely required for your facility to grow.

Ask a transformer supplier. That is if you want to buy one.

They can give you specific answers.

The mass of copper in the primary windings would be about the same in each case, but the 400kv winding would be about 1/20 the cross-sectional area and 20 times as long, and with proportionally greater insulation thickness. This makes me guess that the 400kv would be more expensive. Nonetheless, phoning a vendor would be best.
