S7 PLC Connects to PC Via TCP

01/15/2011 1:20 PM

Hi, Everybody.

I need to send a string from a S7-300 PLC to a PC (i.e. using Hyper Terminal as the leacher). The PLC is connected via MPI to a IE networked PC where runs an OPC server (SIMATIC SOFTNET PB). The leacher PC is networked on the same IE network. I don't want to use a server/client communication. So, I would like to know if OPC server can send TCP/UDP messages do the leacher. I'm intending to avoid purchase an IE CP to network the PLC, for saving money.

Thanks in advance.
