Clearance from Transformer Oil Containment Pit to Fence

What would be the minimum clearance from transformer oil containment pit to fence for 240 kV 400MVA transformer as per CEC and IEEE CODE.

You may also have to consult your local building codes. If the fence is part of a building or there are buildings within particular distances then you may need a fire or blast wall.

This is really a civil engineering problem - consult your substation civil design group, they should know the answer.

Please help me wih code clearance requirements for an oil filled padmount transformer loacted near a substation fence. CSA and OSHA requirements in particular. Code references? I checked the CSA code the minimum distance should be 6m from transformer to any wall or window of building. I f this distance not achievable then install fire wall. But whats about substation fence when transformer live part is 4.5 m far from fence and oil pit 2 m from fence

Recommend you consult the NFPA 101, Life Safety Code, and other applicable NFPA codes.
