Communication Help

02/02/2011 7:31 AM

Dear Engineers: Actually I am working in a huge factory (70 000 m2) I want to make employees (at least 6) to communicate easily using small communication devices... What systems (choices) I have? I was surfing the net and I found a Motorola P185 2 ways radio device...but does this need a station for 6 devices ....every1 would listen to what's any1 is transmitting... Do I have any other choices?like wireless POP... I couldn't get many info from Motorola website because it is restricted to my area

Provided the equipment is out kept of hazardous areas, thePMR446 equipment might be applicable. If each of 6 transceivers are programmed with the same call tone, these six will not lift the squelch on any other radios on the same frequency unless they have the same call tone, and vice-versa.

A trial pack of 6 radios with chargers should come in at less than £125GBP.

I don't know if it's feasible, but another option might be to just use cell phones with built in walkie talkie feature. Like these. Conversations would only be between the people talking.

Now a days most of the big plants have special deal with service provider and use mobile phones which are convenient to operate.
