Depends on where the DC system is earthed. Need more information!

It will be 0V if the negative is earthed, -110V if the positive is earthed, and if neither is earthed it will be whatever a high impedence digital voltmeter can make of it.... <sigh>.

Good evening guys,

Very correct statement PWSlack on the first two cases, i would re-phrase the third case to 'whatever voltage can be created across the insulation leakages (resistance paths) of +ve and -ve poles to ground, including the input impedance of the measuring device in the calculation.

it is dependant to which we will attach the -ve terminal of the AVO ....in case we attached it to the earth we will get +110 whilst a 0 V in case it attached to the ground of the DC system.....However, it doesnt matter which value the -ve terminal would be as we connect the DC system voltage properly to its relevant loads as they isolated completely from the AC system.

if you earth the -ve or +ve to earth through multimeter it will decreased the value due to capacitor discharge. I think no value will be shown. or nothing happens due to short the -ve bus to earth.
