Procedures for Getting Pilot License

02/07/2011 12:35 PM

Hi I would like to know the time it will take for one to become a commercial pilot, or to acquire a pilot license and the approximate cost of the training. Thank you.

Many, Many hours and dollars. Consider joining the military and letting them train you for free. Lots of pilots from there go on to commercial piloting.

Search Google or Yellow Pages for nearby aviation/flight/pilot schools. There is probably too much variation to get a close answer from a general forum, unless someone from your neighborhood has gone through this recently.

Well, it will depend on selecting the country in which the licence is to be applied for.

There's a huge difference between becoming a commercial pilot and getting a license.

The first step is a fixed wing private license. Absolute minimum, $5,000.00USD. Maybe as much as $10,000.00 total. If you are good and have lots of time to do ground school and take lessons at the same time.

Commercial license $50,000.00USD minimum! Maybe 2-3months if you are good.

Becoming a commercial pilot might take the rest of your life. There are waiting lists a mile long.

Call a local flight school.
