Mechanical Engineer Position

02/09/2011 11:34 AM

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer, preferably a PE, in North Alabama, or willing to relocate. Anyone out there know of someone looking for a job? I have exhausted my contacts without sucess, and the economy is supposed to be bad, could have fooled me, we are covered up. Does anyone else have this problem? Where do you go for good candidates, with experience?

Shooter

Could you give a little more detail about the type of equipment?

Capitol, automated, volume, castings, molds, manufacturing facility, engineering services, etc.

Type of cad software?

# of employee's.

Personally I am not interested in moving, but some more info may prod somebody else to inquire.

good luck.

In this recession I'm sure that at Monster or Dice on the web or through a reputable employment agency you will get plenty of applicants. You should certainly post some more information than just looking for a ME with a PE. Designing a 4WD suspension system and the wind loading of a suspension bridge both can be considered ME, but they require different concerns.

You are correct, sorry for the lack of information. We are a company of about 65 engineers and designers, offices in three cities in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Who we are and what we do...engineering services...see our website, www.southernsynergy.com. We are looking for experience in an industrial environment, sizing pumps, stress analysis, some structural, construction support and so forth. I think the website will give everyone an idea on what projects we do, and the experience we are looking for. My goal of posting on here was to get some quality referrals from some of the members for engineers they have worked with and would work with again. Monster has not been so good to us, one has to weed thru so many to get to the quality candidates.

First of all-a nice web-site. However, post a position description on the "careers" portion of your web-site. Next, post the same position description on "Linked in" and "Facebook" after joining a suitable group or two. Put an ad in "Mechanical Engineering" magazine.

NO, I'm not interested in your job, as I am a recently-retired materials/welding engineer who is having too much fun building and running a consulting business. Good luck with your quest.

You can hire many such engineers from who have already worked with engineering consultants for similar projects. You may have to arrange for H1 B visa for these engineers.

Leave your invisible ink calling card with the receptionist. We'll call you back later.

Excuse me, shooter, for stealing your thunder.
