Correct Surge Suppressor Field Test Method

Can you please, guide me that what is the correct way to test a surge suppressor that either it is in working condition or open?

No, seriously, what does one use? Tesla coil, Van de Graaf generator, other hihihipot test?

I like that one...there are some good videos on YouTube of Tesla guys "testing" a computer and a monitor. They failed (the computer and monitor).

You should ask the manufacturer to which code or standard it was made unless it is mentioned in the SPD or leaflet issued with it. Then refer that code or standard.
