Level Indicators for Carboxylic Acid Dehydration Column

02/14/2011 2:49 AM

Dear Freined,

We have an azeotropic distillation colum where carboxylic acid is dehydrated to produce anhydrise. The problem with us is that level indicator of the colum becomes chocked most often and we have to rod it most often )daily basis and some time 3 times a day).

LI Characteristics are as below:

Medium:O-Xylene/CARBOXYLIC ACID solution (50 % MA impure)

Medium state:Liquid

Supended matter;Yes

Corrosive:Yes (highly)

Temperature:168 deg C

Operating Pressur:1.1 bar abs

Crystallization point:52 deg C

Density:1095 Kg/m^3

Dynamic viscosity:0.25 mPa.s

Allowable guage poressue:0.5 bar max

Temperature allowable max:200 deg C

Body material :316L

IP Enclosure to DIN 40050 :IP 65

Connection terminals el design:2.5 mm

ambient temp:45 deg C.

Probe type of construction:Rod fully insulated

Output signal analog :4-20 mA

Aux energy voltage : U 24V d.c

type:capacitive

Please verify and suggest right instrument for level transmission.

Can I shine your shoes, walk your dog, or buy you lunch while I'm preparing this engineering analysis for you?

This is why you hire knowlegable engineers... for competent evaluations... having vendors evaluate this will only slant it to thier hardware... this advice is free, but free engineering evaluation is only as good as what you pay for and can cost your dearly in the long run...
