Hi, I am developing Cause and Effect (C&E) diagram/table(s) for a instrumentation / control project ( not the the QA fish bone C&E diagram). The logic C&E table lists out all required switches on the left hand column and show energies/de-energized logic action of affected device(s) on the table . Please advise on my following queries:
1. Is there any standards, actual practice requirements, API, or any write-up or articles posted before .
2. The logics for PLC and DCS are more positive logic, while the emergency shut down (ESD) system is more negative logic, should I segregate 2 systems, put them in 2 different tables.
3. Is this kind of Cause and Effect (C&E) diagram designed for higher level, such as the operations and process people? I ask this because it seems the C&E diagram does not show logic detail.
Many thanks
