BSMET to BSME Transfering Credits

03/05/2011 12:11 PM

Hello all,

I need some help, I have an ASMET degree and I am currently working on my BSMET at Miami University of Ohio.

My wifes job might be moving us to Florida. ( boca raton fort Lauderdal areas) If I do move I will have to start at a new college and I was curious to see if anyone knew how the credits transfered from a technology based degree into a BSME program

Thank you in advance

I think this varies from college to college, so it may be best to ask the specific colleges in the Boca Raton/ Fort Lauderdale area.

Different colleges, different standards. You'll need to contact institutions via websites or directly to see what they will accept. I would suggest followup with direct contact after online searches, as standards at some schools change even year to year. Got dinged a little on credits when I did this very thing.

It's up to the institution you transfer to. Many schools claim their technology courses are not as comprehensive as their standard BSME courses and will ask you to repeat them. If your grades have been good, the new school may let you continue your education on a conditional basis, which means you will receive credit for previous BSMET courses if you can handle the advanced course work. This is the school's call and you are at their mercy.
