A rare event: Horsetail Falls, Yosemite Nat'l Park
Waterfall on Fire
Very Cool. Good Post
Tell us more--is it really something on fire in the water stream (I assume not) and instead just a result of sunlight reflecting off the water?
There's only a two day window in a given year when the sun rises at the precise position to illuminate the falls in this way.
Maybe somebody would like to calculate the hour and day when next years event will take place..........
You did what, sometimes, I do it too: answer (or ask) before reading all the info:

Oh, yes, you're right--sorry!
First time through I didn't notice that link down near the bottom of the picture.
Awww Maaan, I thought this was like when the Detroit river caught fire when I was a kid. Bummer.
Also many years ago, the Cuyahoga River near Cleveland, OH, caught fire. It was quite polluted!
