Air Condition Remote Control Sensors

03/15/2011 7:56 AM

Hi All, I maintain all the air conditioning systems for a hotel chain and recently I have encountered a problem with my Acson 18000 BTU splits units , the remote control sensors on the evap are not working this problem is proving to be a major headache because these units are relatively young and the sensor only comes with the purchase of a new circuit board, can anyone help me with a replacement sensor that could work, I am open to suggestions on how to rectify this problem. Thank you Bajan0719

Can you find out what the basic sensor type is? If it is measuring temperature, it could be:
Thermocouple
RTD (resistance temperature detector)
ICTD (integrated circuit temperature detector)
Thermistor
and possibly some others.

Each of these has a characteristic output (millivoltage, resistance, etc.) If you have a sample, you can check it. And maybe replace any bad sensors.

However, the problem may be with the circuit board rather than with the sensor. Then you're stuck with replacing the board.

Any of one of Following are the possible causes

Weak remote control battery

Buttons are struck up

Defective sensors

Defective PCB

It takes some time to get cool air depending upon the working of outdoor units control.
