Ayayay!

There are tricks and tips to do this but I'm afraid to post them. 'Might be misused.

If it's your personal computer (meaning, you own it), you could try and remember the password. Keep typing away and you'll get it. One technique is to try and relive (easier said than done for some people) the moment when you thought up the password.

Another technique, is to reformat and reinstall your OS. You'll lose everything but I'm sure you'd have learned your lesson.

If it's the power-on password for your PC, you might be able to restore everything to the default by either disconnecting the battery for the CMOS memory in your PC. Other units have a jumper that you open or short together (depends on the machine) to reset the CMOS memory.

I used to try and be clever in choosing my passwords. Unfortunately, I get too clever sometimes. Too clever that I forget my own password.

One technique that I use is to put a clue in my wallet. I don't write the actual password but something that will remind me of what the password is. Of course, the clue is actually vague enough so that someone who sees it will not be able to guess the password.

That's all I can offer at this time. Others might be more willing (or more able) to help. Good luck.

I once found an incredible way to recall a forgotten password, but I forgot what it was, a few years ago. What was it, the way to recall... recall what? What am I talking about?

Can anybody help?

Find a 15 year-old kid. Many can get your password for you. I have no interest in spreading the word on how this is done, however, nor, I hope, will anyone else provide specifics on this public forum.

No specifics, but If you can't find a 15 year old, you might start by looking here:

Costs a few $ unless you wait though...

This is nothing secret even microsoft has disclosed how to do this. Take out the memory cell out and keep it back at the same place. Files stored with password would open. If you want email-password, the others are correct. remember, curiosity killed the cat. Don't be over curious.

On another note though, formatting your pc is a good idea, though I recommend that you first unplug your hard drive and stick it into another pc to retrieve your data.

...first unplug your hard drive and stick it...

That's what I would do, if only to salvage my documents.

Now, aren't you curious, Heh?

Would he really? "A good friend of mine forgot his own name, should I be a goodfella and tell him, before his pops got home?"

Here's my likely scenario: He wants to get in. No key. Unmount and replug. call the CR4 guys. Get to the "..." file. Tweak it back. unmount and replug. Get in. Not only got in but now has his own key. Big brother/sister/father/mother upset. "Who, me? no-way". END

Dear CR4 members,

I lost the key to my new Hammer. I need to go back to the dealer to get my key back, as soon as possible.

How do I start my car? - Any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance,

Potz B. Bratt, down-town Yokohama.
