Except for pacemakers and other rare biomedical applications, I don't think any motors are used in farmers.

(Fish too many; barrel too small.)

Of course, all countries have more or less similar population distribution, but i am worried about the recent high proportion of 'wot dat's from my country. Most seem to want to learn all about electricity starting from Ohm's law on CR4....that's what makes me go ouch....

All farmers have linier motors, they're called muscles.

While these motors are not used in farmers (that was covered in the posts above), these are motors that can be used on a farm.

Combine Motors (engine), Tractor Motors (engine), Starter Motors (to start combine and tractor), Auger Motors, Blower Motors, Sprayer Motors, Conveyor Motors, Water Pump Motors, Fuel Pump Motors, Generator Motors, Agitator Motors (wife), Hydraulic Pump Motors, Ventilation Motors, Milking Machine Motors, Door Opener/Closer Motors, Hopper Gate Motors, Milking Station Gate Motors, Mixing Motors, Grain Sample Boom Arm Motors, Blower Motors, Valve Actuator Motors, Milk Transfer Pump Motors, Milk Truck Loading Pump Motors, Silo Diverter Gate Valve Motors, Rail Car Grain Loading Augers, to name a few.

If you want all these different type motors, I would suggest becoming good friends with a farm equipment dealer, he will be able to get you a good price.

Go to Global Spec, the kind sponsors of this forum, there is a link button to the upper right of your screen. Search for "farm motor ".

Detecting a pattern here? Maybe you can learn not to keep asking inane questions.

All right. i will, based perhaps on misplaced patriotism, try to help you.

You have been asking for motors and starters and farmers. What you want to know, maybe is about agricultural applications, specific to India.

In India, 95% of motor usage is for irrigation pumpsets. Due to large voltage swings at the tail end, the motors are designed to function between 300 and 450 volts. They are quite often one frame size higher than the name plate HP rating shown because of this.

Since power cuts are rampant, the starters are usually automatic. There are special protection relays developed for this, against undercurrent (dry run) condition, reverse spin (shaft may shear if power fails and returns while the water column is spinning it backwards).. Minilec specialises in such relays. The whole pump-controller has been developed by small manufacturers, and emulated by L&T, CSElectric and BCH. You can approach Meenu Electricals in Bangalore for more knowledge. Usual disclaimer, i have no connection with any of the companies mentioned. Also caveat emptor...

Good luck.
