We use personal messaging on this board and do not publish e-mail addresses.

Why would I contact you for information? I have no queries regarding energy conservation. I certainly wouldn't contact a company that has a one page web site hosted on Yahoo!

I am sure glad you are not doing my energy audit! While I am a firm believer of "learning on the job", this goes just a little to far!

Send me a check and I will send you information.

Turn off the air conditioners. Your energy consumption will drop by 60%. Shut down the restaurant. That will knock another 20% off the bill. Send the laundry out, and pretty much all you will be paying for is the lights.

Above recommendations based on actual experience with remotely sited hotels generating their own electricity. Forget solar. Cost is prohibitive (not the panels- the rest of the system, like batteries, inverters, backup power, etc...) Except maybe solar hot water heating, if you happen to be blessed with a lot of sun. Forget wind- even more costly than solar, unless you have some sort of public subsidy...

Dear Rooney

I do not have any information on this subject, but the only sugestion I can come to is don't take in customers.

I suggest that you do some more research about this subject.

Your enquire is a bit vauge, send more detail.

IE: How the hotel is heated, is there airconditioning etc.

Cheers

Joe

Adopting an appropriate and realistic energy policy delvers sustainable performance . Hotel being the hospitability industry one needs to be extra cautious while implementing energy conservation measures. Energy conversing measures should not affect the quality of services provided to the customers. Air conditioning usually takes major junk of energy. If you can apply any technology to conserve energy in a.c appliances it will save good amount of energy. For energy auditing there is a procedure and available in any of professional institutes web sites.

Roney,

Energy audit should start with the chiller Plant, if your using recep or screw type compressor (estimated KW/ton at 1.2 to 1.5) then recommend to replace with centrifugal chiller (R123 from 0.45kw/ton to 0.58kw/ton and R134a: 0.58 to 0.60kw/ton)

The next equipments are the AHU's motors, if peak load and low load is present in your hotel, VFD installation is recommended as long us the existing motors is applicable for VFD operation.

To insure that your objective can be fulffill, Please inquire with energy audit company for their support.

This is way too large a topic to be discussed on this forum. Seriously, it is a topic that fills textbooks! Also, shouldn't you be the one educating us?

Google "how to do an energy audit" to get started.
