Any Room Heater is Suitable for Both Natural Gas and Propane Gas

03/26/2011 3:49 PM

I want to use natural gas for room heating because it is cheap. However, in case natural gas supply is temporarily shut down, I can use LPG instead. I can achieve this by either choosing a special design heater or choosing a 'fast convertible' conversion kit from propane to natural gas. Anyone has such an experience or knowledge? Is it reliable? Thanks

Some heaters are convertible between natural gas and propane. This typically involves changing an orifice and/or nozzle, easy to do with a small wrench. The pressures are different, and each type of fuel usually has its own pressure regulator.
