Can any-one help me out with where i may be able to obtain a "Brass Thread" that goes into the top of a swivel type piano stool?

Thanks

Well, the first/best option is to locate another stool for sale somewhere (eBay?).

Another option is to buy a threaded rod from McMaster-Carr or a similar place.

If you need to have a new part made, then I would talk to either a high school that has a machine shop or a trade school and see if you can have them make one for you as a school project.

The last option would be to befriend a home machinist that is looking for something to do.

The very last option is to contract a shop to make one, but you better be sitting down for sticker shock. If the price of brass does not shake you, the cost per hour of shop time will!

Thanks for your input--I have tried a couple of these options

It's the "female" part of the thread I need and is more difficult to make than the Threaded rod.

Thanks

I suppose there is more than one way to go about this, but mostly I have seen an Acme threaded steel rod mounted to the swiveling seat, engaging a brass nut mounted in the stationary frame. I agree that McMaster-Carr is a likely source.
