Solid Modelling

03/29/2011 11:23 PM

What are the main uses of solid modelling in manufacturing? How can a truly integrated system be set up covering the complete process from conception of the idea/product to sales and beyond?

Your question is humorous and sad at the same time.

I hope you are not serious, but I fear you really want someone to impart an immense amount of knowledge into your brain by typing here.

Good luck.

3d modeling->The main reason is to make the job easy. It is when 2d modeling is inconvenient and becomes complicated example like drawing mechanical parts and assembly. Presentation wise, it looks the real thing when having it modeled in 3d.

Plus adding up FEA & CFD on 3D models, makes it a very powerful tool for engineers to know the critical conditions when designing.

The link Lyn posted for you above gives you the detailed advantages of 3d modeling.
