Checks on G A Drawing Of Compressor

Ok now I'm curious... How to become a consultant and not have the experience necessary to make a GA?

I have known many men who went into the consultant field in the drilling industry for example, but only after many years of experience.

What industry are you working in?

Maybe his Daddy owns the company.

Now a days ON CR4 you have to be presumptive and smart enough to score a good answer.No matter what the OP post, members need to make an assumption that fits to the best of their know how and post the answer.This is the new and creative way of getting too many good answers for a single lined ill-phrased question, Imagine every answer may be different but all are correct and GA.

sir i am not making a G A. I have to check the G A.I have experience in pumps but not in compressor so was just asking if I could get some help.

I think some of us may be confusing General Arrangement drawing with Good Answer.

Look junior, check the general arrangement drawing the see if everything is in the right place and it looks like the process will work.

Quit whining and start reading.

If you want to be taken seriously as a consultant get out of the habit of using SMS TXT. It leads to confusion and I for one would bin any proposal that contained it.

GENERAL ARRANGEMENT DRAWING OF COMPRESSOR AND BLOWER should have overall plan, elevation, side view(if required, both) and sectional views with broad dimensions. One isometric view is also needed to pictorially understand the piping connections. It should also contain the list with quantity & weight of various assemblies and sub-assemblies of compressor and peripheral equipments like lubricating oil unit, filtration system, inter-coolers, after cooler, silencers & noise hoods, capacity control system etc.

GA drawing should also have in brief major parameters like compressor type, flow rate, suction & discharge pressure, suction & discharge temperature, fluid to be handled, number of stages, rotor speeds, standards followed in design like API, details of drive like kW, speed, voltage & frequency for electric drive,

The most important thing above all the points enumerated at my post 12 for checking GA drawing is to check the space available at site for installation of compressor, compare with the dimensions and routing of piping for compressed gas and utilities like power and water.
