Solar Cell Repair

Has anyone experience with clear silicone (or similar) sealant to go over a cracked glass solar PV cell surface?

silicone will adhere, but is it transparent enough?

That said, a minimal amount to fill cracks would likely be acceptable, as long as you fully filled the crack, edge to edge with no gaps for water entry. Clean first, remove any grease and

True. The problem is that the safety glass is crazed all over, hence the only way would be to 'flood' the whole surface with a sealant. Since the damaged 180 watt cell is free to me. it's worth trying.
