Looking for Users of Livescribes ECHO Pen

04/18/2011 12:46 AM

I would like to hear from people who have used LiveScribes Echo-Smart Pen. Can they recommend purchasing it. Is the regular model or the 8 gig model more useful?

My use for it would be in meetings where there is an amount of brainstorming and where I have to come up with conceptual sketches of my own and others concepts. There is a need for an element of traceability of original ideas. In one particular company, my experience is that people with a strong/loud voice claim concepts clearly forwarded by a much quieter couple of engineers. Often it is a few weeks between meetings on the particular subject and it is hard to remember details, so hard to refute the claims.

Is the pen particularly nice to sketch with. Does it have fine, medium and wide tips.

Sorry, I've never tried one, but, I would be interested to see what you think if you get one.

The Amazon site says:-

  • 8GB of memory records over 800 hours of everything you write and hear So I'd've thought that the 2GB model would be adequate. (Hmmmm two apostrophes of omission in one word: is that allowed?)

Thank you Randall,

I will be sure to give you all the details. I am very close to making a move on this. Spent an evening with an Engineer who consulted for a year or so, on and off shore with Livescribe. I felt he couldn't but be biased, hence the question here. It is obviously not high on the list of must haves for CR4ers.

Slainte!
