Try straight household ammonia. I know it works to remove furniture wax prior to refinishing.

I didn't know that turtles had to be polished.

See, I learned something on CR4 today.

Try Acetone.

Apply it to a cotton cloth.

Rub Acetone onto effected area.

Use it very sparingly.

Do not apply in direct sunlight.

Apply to cool glass (no more than 80 Degree F)

Keep it off of painted surfaces.

Rinse immediately with cool water, wash with dish detergent.

Rinse again with liberal amounts of cool water.

Where run-off contacts painted surfaces, wash down with dish detergent also and rinse.

Use automotive clay. It has the consistency of play-doh. It is used on your cars paint to clean it thoroughly. I'm sure it will work on your glass as well. You can pick it up at any automotive store. You will also need an oil to go with it. You can usually find it in a kit. To see if you need to use it on your paint you can use the baggy test. With you hand inside a zip lock bag gently rub your hand over the paint. If it feels rough you should use clay on it. The clay will pick up all of the dirt and grime that normal washing can't get. Just a tip: If you drop it on the floor just throw it away (unless you want to scratch your car up).

OK,

I'll take your word for it. I won't report back because I'm not going to test my windshield to find out.
