Do You Have A Fiber Optic Network At Your Company?

Pleaase comment with real world examples of fiber optic networks in your comany and why you chose it over Ethernet or some other network. Thank you.

Networks between buildings. Higher bandwidth, mitigates issues with distance and electrical potential differences due to utility hookups.

Benefit is high bandwidth over longer distance between devices. Increased cost is a drawback.

Fiber will give you greater bandwidth. Also, here in Florida we have lightning strikes about 100 days per year. Fiber run between buildings will not carry damaging transients into equipment when lightning strikes nearby.
