Exactly what do you want to do? For example, do you want to compare product specifications from a number of potentially substitutable products (and then pick out the most "cost effective")?

Or, do you want to maintain a database of (potential) suppliers?

Or, do you want an inventory control system to help you pay attention to inventory and re-order with the most cost effective re-order quantities?

Or?

There are many packages to buy. I can't recommend any because every one that we have looked at was too expensive for a small company.

There are a dozen or more open source packages for procurement, CRM, ERP, etc. Most run on Linux and require some effort and skill to bend them into what you want. It at all interested then add "open source" to your next Google and see if you like any of them.

Actually one of known companies have a e- auction software for procurement help to the companies. As of now this is being done to freeze the specification of material to be bought and then to load so that vendors can register and load their quotes. This is cheaper and effective cost reducing tool for procurement fucntion and does the tendering part in a most transparent and less time compared to conventional methods.

Help required is two fold

1) To get to know people who want to use this software for procurement function anywher in the world.

2) To imporve the effectives ness of the software so that vendors, buyers and material spaces are accurate for transparent and efficient buying process in the minimum time.

Concerened software people are ready to come to any place in the world if some wants to buy to install the software if any chances are there to sell the same.

Suggestions required to idnetify both the buyers and software developeers who can improve the existing one as per requirement.
