Outer Sleeve for Small Diameter Wire Rope/Cable

05/05/2011 5:14 PM

Can anyone point me to a source for the outer sleeve for small diameter wire rope/cable.

I am looking for the plastic coated metal spring like wound hollow guide sleeve that would be used for example on bicycle brakes or shifters and on automotive emergency brakes.

What is this stuff called and where can I find it?

Thanks - I have been searching and coming up with nothing. I find the wire rope and cables fine but don't see the housing sleeve that can be used to guide it and constrain it. I am not looking for dipped wire rope which I have also found. Thanks!!

PK

I think I've also heard it called "control cable," so maybe "control cable sheath" or "control cable sleeve" would be a good term.
